What are medication monitoring services?

Because certain drugs can sometimes interact with one another (such as diminishing efficacy or causing adverse reactions) we offer this monitoring service to ensure your health care provider knows exactly what medications you are currently taking. The results help your health care provider safely prescribe medication as part of your treatment plan. Our lab can test urine for a broad range of medications.

What’s my role in the medication monitoring process?

You will provide a urine sample under the direction of your health care provider's office. Please follow the instructions carefully. The collection device they give you may contain instant-read test strips — do not tamper with these test strips. Your health care provider’s staff will interpret the preliminary results; they may also send the sample to an outside laboratory, such as T.E.N. Healthcare, for further analysis and/or additional testing.

What happens after my specimen is sent to the lab?

The lab will run all tests requested by your health care provider. This may include Urine Drug Testing (UDT) to confirm the levels of both prescribed and non-prescribed medication in your system (UDT). TEN Healthcare is the facility testing your specimen because your healh care provider chose us.

Are my results confidential?

Yes. TEN Healthcare complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and all applicable state privacy regulations.

How often will I be tested?

Testing schedules vary with each person. Your health care provider makes this determination based on your medical needs.
